The Hardware Watchdog is an optional [Plug-In] for SiteKiosk and is included already, like all the other [Plug-Ins], in the installation version.
The [Plug-In] is part of the
Basic Version.
Note: The use of a hardware watchdog has decreased significantly, because modern operating systems do run very stable . Starting with SiteKiosk 7.6 the configuration page for the hardware watchdog is hidden by default. To make the page visible again, please go to Start -> Run and open regedit. Then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\PROVISIO\SiteKiosk\Configure\HiddenPages. There is an entry named {07cff032-e9c8-41a7-90ee-f12bcc3163f3} with a value of 1. Change the value to 0.
The unlimited and free trial version allows you to thoroughly test all the functions of this plug-in provided that you have installed a device that is compatible with the Hardware Watchdog plugin.
The following devices are supported:
- Quancom's PWDOG1 (internal PCI card)
- Heddier's Rebooter (external RS232 device)
- TimeOut-2400 (external RS232 device) made by TimeOut Devices, Inc. This device has primarily been developed to serve the US market.
However, please remember that some
shareware restrictions apply.

Overview of Features
If correctly installed, the watchdog hardware will reset your computer in the event of a system crash (blue screen). In doing so, the card ensures that your Internet terminal will be available at almost any time.
